Using web dashboards to see data

Web dashboards can unlock insights that static reports cannot.
When data visualization is moved online, trends become visible, in real-time.

Open source analytics tools can be embedded within web applications, without the need for proprietary licenses. Instead of static reports issued on a weekly or monthly basis, web dashboards enable real-time analytics. The moment data is in the database, it is reflected in the dashboard’s charts and graphics.

Moving analytics to the web browser confers several advantages, namely (i) accessibility, (ii) security, and (iii) scalability. Dashboards can be viewed in any browser, and even on mobile devices, without proprietary software installation. At the same time, the web provides strong encryption methods, the same ones used by online banks, to ensure only authorized access is given. Finally, web applications, designed properly, are scalable to accommodate thousands, even millions of concurrent users.
